1-Year Birthday Party!
Friday, Feb 28 6-9pm (come and go as you please). It's hard to believe we'll have been open for just a year this February, and we'd love to celebrate with you, our amazing members and staff. We will have food, drinks, and birthday cake, and some kind of fun creative thing for us all to do in between bites and sips. Please RSVP here (but you can show up whether you RSVP or not!)
March member gathering
Sun, March 30, 2-4pm; This will be our usual potluck gathering, with an optional bud vase exchange: We had so much fun dong a luminary exchange at the last gathering that we're going to do it again, this time with bud vases! Bring one if you want to participate in the exchange. Also, we'll have a group vase making session to support Friendly City Florals (you can read about them below). Members who can't come but want to make bud vases for Friendly City Florals are very welcome to! Please try have them to us by April 1. As always, you can join and make stuff, or just hang out and snack ;).
At Friendly City Florals, we believe that a simple bouquet of flowers can have a significant impact on someone's day. Working hand-in-hand with schools, healthcare, hospice, senior resident and social service communities, we donate locally grown flowers and repurposed event flowers.
Some notes from them on what vases tend to work: We find that vases with smaller openings work particularly well for our arrangements. They help the flowers go further, allowing us to reach more recipients. For example, we often use small-mouth mason jars, taller skinny vases, and bud vases. That said, we’re thrilled to accept anything your members create - we know they’ll be beautiful and meaningful!
