Experimenting with Clay Mosaics with Barbara Gautcher

Thursdays 6-8pm, Mar 6 - Apr 10 (6 sessions)
Ages 16 and up are welcome
Cost: $180 + $30 materials (all materials are included)
Beginners and returners welcome!
Exercise your creativity making mosaic art of your choice, in your style, & choice of materials. This class welcomes all - beginners as well as experienced students. We will make our own tiles from clay, but you may choose to add glass, mirror or broken dishes. All supplies & tools are on hand in the classroom ready for your use. Just bring your creative ideas and enjoy working with a group of students who encourage & inspire one another!
About the Instructor:
Barbara has taught art for nearly 40 years, from elementary to adult level, from Baltimore to Croatia. She retired from full-time teaching at EMHS and adjunct teaching at EMU and BRCC in 2017. Since then she has taught at Harrisonburg High School, Bridgewater college and the Governor’s School in Fishersville. She is a graduate of Bridgewater College, earned an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, and was the Secondary Art Teacher of the Year for the state of Virginia in 2014.
Barbara works in a variety of media: acrylic, watercolor, linocut, wheel-thrown and hand-built clay, mosaic, and collage. Her abstract, colorful and award-winning work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the US. and Europe. She enjoys teaching others to discover and expand their creative side.

Class Cancellations and Absence
Refunds minus a $20 processing fee are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds.
