Loose & Lively Oil Painting with Cyndi
Overview
4 weeks, Tuesday & Thursday 1-2:30pm, May 6-29 (8 sessions)
Ages 16 and up are welcome
Cost: $240 + $60 materials (all materials are included)
Beginners and returners welcome!
Discover the joy of painting quickly and expressively in this adult oil painting class! You'll create beautiful, gestural still life paintings using the dynamic "plein air" approach—working wet-on-wet to complete a painting in a single sitting.
No experience? No problem—Instructor Cyndi Gusler will guide you step by step, helping you loosen up your brushwork and develop confidence in capturing light, color, and form.
Bonus: We’ll be using natural oils like lavender and walnut, along with non-toxic cleaners, so you can enjoy the process in a safe and low-odor environment.
About the Instructor:
Cyndi Gusler, MFA, is a professor of art at EMU where she shares her love of creating with her students. She began her teaching career as an elementary art teacher, and has been teaching art to children in summer programs for over 20 years. She especially enjoys working with small groups of students, allowing each child to explore the techniques and language of painting and drawing.
Class Cancellations and Absence
Refunds minus a $20 processing fee are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for. You can find out more on our studio policies page.
