Overview

  • 3 Mondays, March 31-April 14, 6:30-8:30pm

  • Ages 16 and up are welcome

  • Cost: $110 + $10 materials (all materials are included)

  • Beginners and returners welcome!

Students will learn how to make careful observations and do technical drawings in pen and ink of a variety of native plants to our area. Students will also learn watercolor techniques and will paint their drawings, leaving class with one or several beautiful examples of botanical studies. Beginners or returning students are welcome. Rebecca will walk everyone through the process, and we will have fun along the way! Rebecca will bring in plant specimens that we will observe, draw, and paint.

This is a great class for nature lovers and appreciators, as we will talk about how to incorporate this practice into your everyday life. It's also a great way to get out of the house and learn a new skill in the company of others.

About the Instructor:

Rebecca Gish is an artist living and practicing in the Shenandoah Valley. She lives on an old farm in Linville, VA with her husband Dave and three children, a dog and two cats. She can be found rambling on field walks and is lately so fascinated by what happens to the natural world in each season, drawing inspiration for life and art.
